9 Best Games for Kids – Safe, Educational and Entertaining!

Although video games are usually perceived as addressed at mature audiences, at their roots, they were primarily entertainment for kids. Here is a list of games that you can play with your younger siblings or kids, without concern for their safety.

The Sims 4

The capabilities are limitless.

Genre: life simulator

Target audience: players over 7 years old (no upper age limit) who love everything related to clothing, gardening, or designing homes and interiors

A list of games for kids without The Sims included is no good. This is another fantastic game from Will Wright we mentioned above. Released in 2014, the fourth part is the latest installment of the series, which has brought mountains of gold to EA.

Simply put, games under the sign of the Sims are life simulations in which the player assumes control over virtual people (called Sims in the game) and manages their existence from a divine, omnipresent point of view. Players decide about everything – not only what career path their Sims, but also whether they get enough sleep, get married, wash before sleeping, or do homework. These are, however, details, and the repetitiveness of the gameplay itself perfectly mimics the routine of everyday life.

Creating the character is a lot of fun.

What players of all ages have come to love about the Sims are the extremely powerful editing tools for virtually the entire game world. The first is an advanced character wizard that allows creating (admittedly imperfect) representation of the player's face. This is where people spend the most time – after creating the perfect character, you just have to browse through thousands of clothes and then... build the house of your dreams. This is where people also spend the most time, because the house creator wizard is even more extensive. You can change everything, from the foundations, color of the walls, placement of windows and walls, to TVs and fridges. And as soon as we finish putting up the dream hacienda, we still have to design the garden.

The Sims are just one huge creation wizard, that’s why even the youngest players love The Sims 4. Even if they don't really understand all the underlying mechanics (for example to get a job, you need to search for it on the Internet or in a newspaper), the creators alone will give them so much fun. Now, for players over twelve, this is a mandatory position. No doubt.
