Gamepressure Games of 2020

The Last of Us: Part 2 or Cyberpunk 2077? Maybe the inconspicuous Hades, which absolutely stormed our hearts? We've chosen our games of the year.

  1. Release date: April 2020
  2. Genre: truck simulator for extreme conditions
  3. Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne

The informal continuation of Spintires and the official sequel to MudRunner, the truck simulators working in the most inaccessible regions of the globe, that, at first glance, does not offer much new to their predecessors. After a closer look, however, the changes proved to be fundamental, significantly increasing the momentum and pleasure accompanying the playthrough.

SnowRunner does not forgive from the very first moment, teaching Sunday drivers that patience and prudence are paramount, and that lack of focus or excessive haste is a recipe for disaster. It gives a lesson of respect for mother nature, which even with the help of a simple puddle and a hill, not to mention the larger amounts of mud or rivers, can ruin many minutes of work. And it offers a substantial portion of satisfaction when, after many hardships, we tame this world, learn about the power of variable differentials and hook links, and the systematically expanded fleet of vehicles is finally able to face even the most inaccessible regions of the world. Including the ultimate enemy - snow and ice.

Thanks to much larger and richer maps, the debuting snow mentioned here and numerous improvements in driving physics, SnowRunner proved to be a huge step forward for the series... and simply a great game. Not so much for the fans of racing games, because it's not the speed that counts here, but rather for the enthusiasts of games that require a lot from players and are relaxing in their unique way. Seriously, 15-minute attempts to get out of the marsh can really relax!
