Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel's Spider-Man 2, SIE, 2023

  1. Release date: October 20
  2. Platform: PlayStation 5
  3. Our rating: 9/10

The second part of Spider-Man, one of the few exclusives for the PlayStation 5, is like the best of Marvel movies. The fun turns out to be great, but no one predicts Oscar nominations. Truth be told, the sequel to Spider-Man's adventures got a chance to compete for the game of the year title at the TGA gala, but the likelihood of it winning anything seems negligible – the competition is simply too strong this year. But the nomination alone proves that we're dealing with a really great production that provides a lot of fun from beginning to end.

The devs created on top of the foundations of the original, so all they had to do was correct a few shortcomings and give us the opportunity to once again play as one of the most iconic superheroes of all times. And we got much more – a larger city, more opportunities to swing between New York skyscrapers and more playable characters. All of this was wrapped in nice graphics, supported by great music, and care was taken to ensure absolutely zero loading times, even at fast travel. There's no better Spider-Man for now!

It may not reinvent the superhero video game format, but Spider-Man 2 refines what came before and gives us an adventure that carefully balances gameplay and storytelling while keeping us entertained even after the credits roll.
