The two biggest premieres of the month are definitely The Last of Us 2 and Valorant. In June, we will also play new Desperaros, returning after many years, a remasters of Command and Conquer series and a handful of interesting independent games.

What is Command and Conquer Remastered Collection?
A set of upgraded versions of Westwood's iconic games that defined the genre of real-time strategy more than two decades ago. The remasters were developed by Petroglyph studio, known for Star Wars: Empire at War and Grey Goo. The collection includes remasters of Command and Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Command and Conquer: Red Alert.
How is the new version different from the classics?
The remasters will offer the entire content from the classics and the official extras, along with modding support. The audiovisuals of the productions have been fully revamped. Based on the original sprites and designs, the units were re-created, now featuring a lot more details. The new versions of Command and Conquer will also offer full support for modern resolutions, including 4K. What will remain unchanged are the gameplay mechanics – we are still dealing with classic RTS games, which once paved the way for the entire genre.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
Remasters are tricky. Many of us can recall that Command & Conquer looked the same in the mid-1990s as it did in the 2000s. Completely identical! So, it's clear the creators apparently want us to pay again for the same thing ;) But seriously, this refreshed classic RTS series at a time when there is actually no new such games on the market, seems to be a bull's-eye. If the reviews are favorable, I'll be happy to send the GDI after the NOD (and vice versa).

A long time ago, completing Command & Conquer was comparable to experiencing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the first time. The creators of Dune II have proven that a strategy game can make for an experience comparable to an immersive action movie. There was an interesting plot, articulate characters and an incredible soundscape, pumping up the tempo like it was Uncharted. Today, I get the feeling that these kinds of combinations are no longer created, and it's not just about the neglect of the RTS genre. We increasingly push to extremes, either getting pure action, or the sluggish decision-making at a strategic level. I don't know how much of that atmosphere and feel will be replicated in the remaster, but fingers crossed it will be a good return to the past.
