Stardew Valley is a sandbox farming game with RPG elements, in which the main task is to take care of the farm the player inherits form their grandpa. The farm, however, is not in the best condition and requires a lot of work to get it back to its former glory. The main thrust of gameplay is planting and harvesting crops, which can then be sold for cash. The money earned is worth investing in expanding the farm, which will allow getting other types of plants and even start breeding animals.
In addition, the player will get many different tasks to complete in the sandbox world. So you can go fishing, mining (watch out for monsters), or visit the nearby city and befriend some of the NPCs there. On top of that, we get a familiar RPG-like character development system that lets us obtain new skills.
What makes this a good game to play with friends?
In 2018, Stardew Valley was enriched with a coop mode, in which we can work on the farm with up to four people. Cultivating beets doesn't require your entire cognitive effort, so it is an ideal game for relaxed sessions with friends. Harvesting, fishing, or participating in local festivals and attractions is a great way to kill off time. This could even be a good relationship test, if your significant other like playing video games – you might learn something about them!
