Give Me My Life Back! Games In Which We Spend The Most Time

A dozen, several dozen, several hundred – we often quit a game long before the end credits, but there are some productions that we just can't get enough of. We have prepared a list of games which are the longest-lasting games for the users of Steam.

Table of Contents

Hearts of Iron IV

  1. Release Date: June 6, 2016
  2. Average Steam user time in game: over 150 hours
  3. Network gameplay: yes
  4. Mod support: yes

In Hearts of Iron, we go back to the time of World War II, which was recreated in the most believable way possible. We can lead a country, develop its industrial potential, arm and modernize the army, fortify borders and wait for the outbreak of war, which sooner or later simply has to happen.

Do you already understand what Hearts of Iron IV fans are spending all those hours on? On enjoying the care with which this historical period was treated. On creating more alternative versions of events. The extensive library of modifications also extends the time spent with this title. The high quality of execution, the freedom of choice, and the showing of the brutal face of war allow you to spend a lot of time here - and many take advantage of that opportunity!

Rust

  1. Release Date: 8 February 2018
  2. Average Steam user time in-game: nearly 150 hours
  3. Network gameplay: yes
  4. Mod support: none

A huge open world, collecting resources and splitting the heads of sleeping naked men with stones - Rust, the illegitimate child of ARMA 2 and Minecraft ( that's a very simplified definition), managed to convince millions of players by appealing to our primal instincts. In the end, nothing can replace the situation in which, together with people we meet, we form an invincible team with axes and bows, only to be shot after a while by a random passer-by armed with a Kalashnikov forcing us to start over.

Rust is definitely not friendly to new players, but veterans assure that after just a few dozen hours it is possible to master the basics of using simple weapons and building bases. Numerous deaths and learning from mistakes seem to be an intrinsic part of this production, and that's what must have driven players who slowly assimilated all the intricacies of the gameplay over five years of early access. A bit of masochism is required, but it's supposedly worth it...

Europa Universalis IV

  1. Release date: 13 August 2013
  2. Average Steam user time in game: over 130 hours
  3. Network gameplay: yes
  4. Mod support: yes

Paradox knew that with Europa Universalis, they had to prove that their games didn't need to be bought six months after release, when the biggest problems had already been solved. As a result, players got a well-polished grand strategy that gets high ratings and is being expanded with new expansions even five years after its debut on the market.

Managing a European country on every level - military, diplomatic and economic - in a polished form appealed to fans of the genre so much that they devoted most of their free time to it, both playing and creating mods. The numerous positive reviews on Steam and statistics from SteamSpy speak for themselves. The game is terribly engrossing and there is no shortage of people who have devoted up to two thousand hours to it.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

  1. Release Date: December 1, 2015
  2. Average Steam user time in game: over 100 hours
  3. Network gameplay: yes
  4. Mod support: none

The Rainbow Six series has strayed far from its original premise, but in the case of the latest installment of the series, we're talking about an extremely successful transfer of tactical thinking to the field of team-based shooters. There's no running around with your finger on the trigger in one of two or three available corridors, just a psychological game with the enemy and preparing for an encounter with enemy units.

Dozens of playable characters with unique equipment and abilities allow you to use the destructible environment in an exceptionally inventive way. Numerous updates, in turn, provide protection against boredom. The actions that can be carried out with an experienced team provide a lot of adrenaline that is easy to get addicted to. Not surprisingly, once someone tries it, they are lost for dozens of hours.
