Games with Friendly Communities

Contrary to popular belief, there are games in which players don't actually want spoil your fun all the time. Here's a list of network-oriented titles you can play without constantly listening to offensive remarks insulting members of our families.

The Elder Scrolls Online

  1. In a nutshell: almost like Skyrim – Online
  2. Genre: MMORPG
  3. Payment model: buy-to-play

The Elder Scrolls Online has come a long way, but now stands at the forefront of the MMORPG genre. The beginning was extremely bumpy, but over time, ZeniMax proved that TESO can stand on its own legs. This game was also appreciated by players and, despite its controversial business model that includes paid DLCs, add-ons, items, and optional but useful subscription, it is very popular.

I expected a highly competitive environment, with players focused on achieving the best results. But I was surprised at how mature a community The Elder Scrolls Online sports. Players will advise, answer questions, help, and show you around Tamriel if you need support.

The community doesn't hesitate to criticize some of the developers' ideas, as well as suggest which DLCs are really worth the buck, and freely accept newcomers to the guilds. Therefore, if you are looking for an MMORPG in which players will not flay you alive, but rather offer help, I can recommend the Elder Scrolls Online.

WHERE TO FIND FRIENDS?

In every network production, we deal with a crowd of players, and in a crowd, as in a crowd, there's people from all walks of life. However, there are two principles that we can follow if we want to find relatively peaceful communities. First, we are more likely to find a mature and friendly community in paid games. It's likely because people there pay for playing, so they're actually focused on the game. Second, the games focused on tighter cooperation also seem to discourage toxic behavior. Competitiveness not only spurs anger, but also promotes more aggressive behavior.

WHY WE HATE?

“«Let the hate flow through you» said emperor Palpatine to Luke Skywalker aboard the Deathstar. The young Jedi, unlike his father, did not succumb to hate, but it was still nested deep inside his soul, just like other negative feelings, compulsively forsworn by the masters of the Light Side. Obscured somewhere between the mitochondria, it ultimately turned him into a grumpy hermit, a would-be murderer of his best apprentice.” If you’re interested in on-line toxicity and hate, we recommend checking this article we posted last year, from which you will learn what Drath Vader has in common with regular players.
