The Worst Games of 2021 - Very Non-definitive Edition

The awards ceremony for the best games of the year is over. But what about the worst? Since there's still no equivalent of the Golden Raspberries for games, let's use our list of the most disappointing releases of the past year as a guide.

Table of Contents

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood

  1. Released: February 4
  2. Developer: Cyanide Studio
  3. Platforms: Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One
  4. Average rating on Metacritic: 42/100

The interactive version of the table-top RPG is always a big challenge for the creators, because such a game usually already has many fans with specific expectations. In the case of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, it seems that it has not been possible to make anyone happy – neither brand veterans nor novices. We play the role of Cahl, a man who can turn into a werewolf, and is supposed to help his clan face a powerful corporation and an even greater threat. It sounds intriguing, but the final effect is far not only from perfect, but also from satisfying.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood gives the impression of a budget game prepared without great effort. Players unfamiliar with the brand will reflect on the less than addictive story, full of concepts and references known only to the greatest Werewolf fans. Everyone, without exception, will see only outdated graphics, poor animations, crude combat and stealth mechanics. The things that Werewolf can offer, we already got in much better shape years ago, in many other titles. In 2021, such execution will not pass.
