In Chapter 9 of the FF7 Remake, The Town That Never Sleeps, you will come across Sam, who wants to flip a coin. You can bet the winning side of the coin (heads or tails).

In this case the choice is illusory and irrelevant. If you choose Heads, then Tails will be the final result. If you choose Tails, then Heads will be the final result. If you don't agree to make any choice, Aerith will choose for you. So there is no real choice in this case.

After making this choice, Cloud will realize that the coin is a fake and he had no chance to win this competition. According to the storyline, Sam is supposed to refuse to help our heroes and you can't affect this choice in any way.
