Strategy games. Victory depends here on player’s strategy and tactics. Main task is to control resources (e.g. troops, civil workers) in order to defeat an enemy or achieve some other goal. BattleTech

BattleTech, developed by Harebrained Schemes studio, known for Shadowrun, is a tactical battle game, which is a refreshed edition of a game released for PC in the 80s, as one of the first games by Westwood (Command & Conquer). The work was overseen by Jordan Weisman himself – the developer of the acclaimed series, MechWarrior, as well as the original BattleTech tabletop from 1984.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

A spin-off of the popular Might & Magic series by Capybara Games, originally released for Nintendo DS, and later also for PC and the eight generation consoles. It is a combination of logic puzzle games and turn-based strategies with significant plot, and visuals-wise it resembles a jRPG. The story was divided into 5 episodes, during which you have to complete quests, explore the world, talk to NPCs, and, of course, fight enemies.

An unusual real-time strategy embedded in the Battle-tech universe, in which we take control of the powerful combat machines - the mosses. The game focuses on the tactical side of the clashes. There are no options for building a base and obtaining raw materials. Instead, our task is to skillfully control the battle groups.

A world-famous real-time strategy by the legendary developer Blizzard Entertainment. Set in a science fiction world, the game features dynamic battles between three enemy fractions – the descendants of humans known as Terrans, the enigmatic Protoss, and the insectoid Zerg. StarCraft offers 30 extensive missions divided into three different single player campaigns. Each of the available races is distinguished by unique units, technologies, buildings etc.
Men of War: Vietnam

The third standalone expansion for Men of War, a real-time strategy game. Similarly to the vanilla game and its two previous add-ons, it was developed by Best Way. This time around, the players can take part in the Vietnam War, fought in years 1955-1975 by US-backed South Vietnam and North Vietnam, supported in turn by the Communist Bloc. Both sides of the conflict have their separate story campaigns.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

A science-fiction turn-based strategy game that came out as a reboot of the cult series, UFO: Enemy Unknown, launched back in 1994 by Microprose. This new title was created by Firaxis Games, a studio founded by Sid Meier. The story of XCOM: Enemy Unknown does not follow any of the plotlines started by its predecessors. Instead, it tells a new story of the war between humans and an aggressive alien race.

One's prime goal here is to maintain an appropriate balance between expanding the village and being able to survive in a hostile environment. Thus, apart from utilizing more and more space, constructing new buildings and upgrading the existing ones, the player has to give proper winter clothing to their subordinates and deliver them with balanced meals.
