Adventure games. They include three fundamental elements: exploration, solving puzzles and strongly emphasized story. Controlled characters collect items and use them in puzzles in order to push the story further. Adventure games usually offer only single player mode and the point-and-click interface. This category includes also HOPAs (Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure games) which put emphasis on searching items hidden on the screen.

The main character of the game, the archivist Rosalina, travels the distant corners of the land, discovering its secrets. The characteristic feature of this production are the controls, which are based on manually typed verbal commands.
Lucius III

As we travel through Winter Hill, we talk to the people who live there and perform tasks that push the story forward. This often requires the use of the hero's supernatural abilities. As in the previous parts of the series, there is a lot of brutality in the game.

A detective visual novel adventure game by Kadokawa Games, set in contemporary Japan. The production is extended by a new content of the original remake, which was released in 2016. The re-edition replaced the original two-dimensional illustrations with photographs and films of actors characterized as heroes of the title.

Hiveswap

Hiveswap is an adventure game based on the popular webcomic Homestuck. It was financed though a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, gathering almost 2.5 million dollars. Initially, the game was to be developed by two studios: What Pumpkin, founded by Andrew Hussie, the creator of the original comic, and Odd Gentlemen. The latter, however, abandoned the production to work on the episodic reboot of the King's Quest series together with Activision. Hussie calls Hiveswap an adventure game parody.
