The DLC introduces a new mini-campaign in which we are chasing the Slave Knight Gael, who is searching for the Dark Soul of Humanity. It takes place in a new location where we will find new challenges, NPCs, and enemies. Just like in every Dark Souls game, we will have to face powerful bosses when playing The Ringed City.

Unlike its predecessors, the game uses a science fiction setting. Virtual players and their characters explore the galaxy, do quests, and take part in turn-based battles.

The newest expansion allows the players to travel beyond Eorza, to the territories occupied by the Garlean Empire. Stormblood also definitively ends the game's support for PlayStation 3. The biggest addition to the game introduced by Stormblood are the new locations. We will visit Ala Mhigo, travel to the new continent Othard and Doma Kingdom that lies there.

Plot-wise, it is a prequel whose action takes place before the events of the core game and is focused on one of the secret missions that the protagonist, Adam Jensen, took on for Task Force 29.
