Adventure games. They include three fundamental elements: exploration, solving puzzles and strongly emphasized story. Controlled characters collect items and use them in puzzles in order to push the story further. Adventure games usually offer only single player mode and the point-and-click interface. This category includes also HOPAs (Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure games) which put emphasis on searching items hidden on the screen.

In the saddle of the titular horse, the player explores the locations first presented in the said series. One is required to care for the health of the horse and completes various quests.
Quern: Undying Thoughts

First-person adventure with elements of a logical game, which draws on the achievements of the cult series Myst. The player ends up on a mysterious island with the ultimate goal of discovering the truth about its past and discovering its secrets. The above mentioned goals translate into a gameplay whose pillars are exploration of a vast world and solving more or less complex puzzles. The whole was maintained in a characteristic, surrealist style, inspired by the work of Julius Verne.

Once Upon a Time in Roswell

Survival horror inspired by an incident in Roswell. Players take on the role of a detective who has to solve the mystery of the disappearance of a family living in a house near the spacecraft's break-up site.
Detective Gallo

A point-and-click adventure game, in which we assume control of the eponymous Detective Gallo – an anthropomorphic bird that attempts to solve the mystery behind the murder of five exotic plants. During the game, we often solve puzzles and conduct conversations with neutral characters in order to shed new light on the case. When it comes to visuals, we are dealing with hand-drawn 2D graphics.

A unique action-adventure game developed by an independent Chinese studio Spotlightor Interactive. The player assumes the role of the titular candle that can burn for only ten seconds. This flame is the only weapon of the protagonist during the long and dangerous journey to find the far away light. The gameplay mechanics of Candleman are based on principles of three-dimensional platform games.

The player takes on the role of one of the members of a bio-hazard department, in whose skin he traverses a ghastly residence, looking for a vaccine for a companion infected with a deadly virus. He has only thirty minutes to complete his task - if he does not manage to return to the sick person with medicine and discover the mystery of his home, the struggle will start anew.

Hiveswap

Hiveswap is an adventure game based on the popular webcomic Homestuck. It was financed though a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, gathering almost 2.5 million dollars. Initially, the game was to be developed by two studios: What Pumpkin, founded by Andrew Hussie, the creator of the original comic, and Odd Gentlemen. The latter, however, abandoned the production to work on the episodic reboot of the King's Quest series together with Activision. Hussie calls Hiveswap an adventure game parody.
The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk

A continuation to a well-received point-and-click adventure game, developed by the independent Studio Fizbin. The Last Wind Monk is set three years after the events depicted in the original game. Robert, the protagonist, had been turned into a stone and has remained in this form during these three years. As a result, his dynasty lost its influences to the evil Emil. Along with his companions, Robert has to stop the wrongdoer, through finding the titular, Last Wind Monk.
White Day 2: Swan Song

Second part of White Day series initiated in 2001 with survival horror of the same name. After several years, the title received a remake entitled White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, and just before its debut on PC and PlayStation 4, White Day 2: Swan Song was revealed. The game is not a direct continuation, but a prequel, the action of which takes place six years before the events shown in the original. Players learn the fate of students trapped in a haunted school at night.
DreamBreak

An exploration/adventure horror by the independent studio Sigma Games from Poland. The main hero of Inner Voices is John Blake who is trapped in a dimension resembling purgatory. The protagonist suffers from amnesia and the only way to reveal his mysterious past is to follow a strange voice. The hints it drops lead the hero to eerie places which reflect his own memories distorted by an unknown, evil force. The action is presented from the first-person perspective.

An adventure game in the form of an interactive FMV thriller, developed by the Swiss team at CtrlMovie and directed by Tobias Weber; the script on the other hand, was written by Michael Robert Johnson. Though the game debuted on mobile devices, it also came out for PC and consoles a year later. Matt, the protagonist, is a young student of mathematics, who tries to make some money as a car park guard. He gets charged with stealing Chinese porcelain from an auction house in London.
Dear Esther: Landmark Edition

A remake of Dear Esther, a popular narrative exploration game from 2012 that started a whole new genre – the so-called walking simulators. It was developed by the independent studio The Chinese Room. Contrary to the base version of the game that was powered by the Source engine and released only on personal computers, this edition is powered by the Unity technology. This enabled the developers to release their game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.
