Sunless Sea: Zubmariner is focused on an entirely new story that takes place in the steampunk universe known from the vanilla game but introduces some changes in the gameplay mechanics. The players’ task is once again to explore the seas, only this time they descend into the depths, assuming control of a steam submarine.

The players assume the role of a hero, who is tasked with finding a way to imprison the Titans, who've managed to escape after years of imprisonment, and are now causing mayhem and destruction on Earth.

When exploring Draenor, which is divided into seven zones, the player visits mainly dried wastelands, forests filled with wildlife, frozen highlands and new dungeons.

The player again assumes the role of an Interpol agent, Adam Jensen, who fights criminal organizations in different parts of the world.

Four adventurers, controlled by the player, become involved in a conspiracy, which can affect the fate of the whole kingdom.
