Returning after a several-year long hiatus, this new installment was developed by FreeStyle Games, who previously created two DJ Hero games. Overall, the gameplay mechanics did not change much, however, this time the game features the view from the guitarist’s eyes, whereas cartoonish characters gave way to authentic musicians and crowds resembling real audience. Guitar Hero Live supports a new version of guitar controller with 6 buttons in two rows, imitating the real instrument even better. As always, the game lets you adjust difficulty level to your skills. Unfortunately, unlike rivaling Rock Band 4, Guitar Hero Live is not compatible with tracks purchased for previous games.

In Seasons after Fall, we assume the role of a fox trying to restore the balance to the world of nature, as the seasons of the year are starting to fade away. To save the world, the sympathetic protagonist has to find the four guardians of seasons. When it comes to mechanics, Seasons after Fall draws heavily from the classic metroidvania-style platform games, while the gameplay focuses on finding the guardians of the seasons, resulting in our character taking over their powers, which allows him to influence his surroundings and solve puzzles. For example, we can summon winter to freeze a waterfall in order to cross to the other side, and by summoning spring we can force the plants to grow faster, using their stems as paths and bridges, reaching previously unavailable locations. Seasons after Fall stands out with two-dimensional, hand-drawn visuals, and atmospheric soundtrack recorded by a string quartet.

Gameplay focuses on map exploration and avoidance of the traps located there. There are many types of traps we will encounter: drops and trapdoors, hordes of spiders, flying axes, blades and spikes erupting from the ground, and skeletons with bows. The extent of obstacles we will have to fave depends on the chosen map and on how far we managed to go. It is important to make sure we get to treasure chests. Gold which we get from them we can use to buy better equipment and special items that will make our adventures a bit easier.

The final result presents itself quite curiously — it blends modernity with clear references to the classics. The second aspect is the simulation itself, where the players can operate numerous construction machines and construct, demolish, or maintain buildings with their own hands. Among other things, the players get at their disposal excavators, huge construction cranes, and dump trucks. What is worth mentioning, the player has to maintain and improve the aforementioned machines – in total, the game offers 40 upgrades to install on the vehicles. Arcade, 2D, Polish, Singleplayer, Free-to-play.

A simple arcade game from the independent Polish studio Digital Melody. Player takes control of a helicopter and is involved in dangerous rescue missions, helping people who got stuck e.g. on mountain peaks, lighthouses and roofs of railway carriages. Each task must be performed without damaging the machine, avoiding collisions with one of many obstacles, which isn’t easy because of simple controls, preventing any precisions when flying. Aside from a classic campaign consisting of 50 stages, Risky Rescue features an endless mode in the form of a peculiar time race. It is worth going through it though, as the faster we complete each challenge, the more money we earn, which can be used to buy new, better helicopters. Visuals are two-dimensional and rather simple, but pleasant to look at.

RPG, Fantasy, Hack'and'slash, Action RPG, Singleplayer, Isometric View, Free-to-play.

Developed by Fedeen Games, Torchlight Mobile is a spin-off to a popular hack-and-slash game series. The title was developed from scratch with mobile devices in mind, and thus it is not a simple conversion of any of the previous installments. Torchlight Mobile invites you into a classic fantasy universe, as it stands on the brink of destruction at the hands of servants of darkness. Obviously, the task of defeating the evil forces and saving the world falls down on the player. You can pick any of the four playable character classes: Berserker, Engineer, Outlander, and Embermage, each one representing a completely different profession and requiring different play style. In a typical action RPG manner, the gameplay boils down to fighting hordes of monsters, developing your character’s skills, and upgradeing their equipment, e.g. by combining several weaker items into one more powerful. Torchlight Mobile features slightly cartoonish artworks, characteristic of the core games in the series.

Developed by Tripware Interactive in cooperation with Antimatter Games, an FPS which is a continuation to Rising Storm. As the title suggests, the action takes place in Vietnam, where you assume the roles of American or Vietnamese soldiers. The mechanics do not differ considerably from those in the previous installment and once again emphasize realism. Due to the different historical period and realities of the conflict presented, the game now features choppers, booby-traps, and machine guns. Soldiers of each fraction differ not only in fighting style, but also in equipment. The creators provided new unit system that allows for bigger control over the player's squad. Rising Storm 2: Vietnam introduces multiplayer for up to 64 players.

RPG, Fantasy, jRPG, Singleplayer, Turn-based.

A jRPG developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, also known as "Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna" in Japan. It makes references to the classics of the genre and games such as the legendary classic Chrono Trigger. The story is set in a land of ever-lasting winter. Furthermore, the region is regularly terrorized by demons. In order to satisfy them, the inhabitants decide to sacrifice a girl, the game's eponymous protagonist. Along with a nameless henchman and a mysterious female traveler called Kuon, Setsuna sets out for a long and dangerous journey to the place where the sacrifice is to be made. On her way, she meets many different characters and encounters deadly monsters. The player observes the characters from high above and travels from one location to another using the world map, visiting numerous towns, restocking supplies, buying new equipment and fighting various enemies. The game employs a dynamic turn-based combat system, resembling the one used in early Final Fantasy games or the said Chrono Trigger. Once the player has refilled a special meter, they gain access to different boosts.

A unique combination of a real-time strategy and a match-3 logic puzzle game by the indie team Anomaly Studio. The game features segments, during which you participate in sieges — while in some missions you are the invader, in other you have to defend your fortress. During the game, most of the screen consists of a map divided into 42 fields, and your task is to manipulate the randomly-generated symbols to combine at least three of the same kind. This is how you summon units, which automatically charge into battle, and the more elements are there in a combination, the more powerful is the summoned character. Moreover, from time to time you can activate a huge cannon, which scatters the enemy units, while simple RPG elements allow you to develop your units. The Long Siege utilizes the premium financial model and features no microtransactions.

Another installment of the popular series of games for Nintendo consoles. Similarly as previous titles from the Prime sub-series, Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a science-fiction first-person shooter. It was developed by Next Level Games and features only a stub of a plot. During the game the player assumes the role of a soldier of the Galactic Federation. Together with his companions, he fights against the Space Pirates while controlling mechs. The basic campaign mode was designed with cooperation mode for up to four players in mind. Despite the fact that the game focuses purely on action elements, the developers added a bit of tactical depth – before each fight the player can select the equipment of his mech. The game also contains multiplayer modes based on competition between players, including a special mode called Blast Ball, which is a futuristic variation of soccer for two three-person teams.

Arcade, Puzzle Elements, PlayStation VR, Singleplayer, PlayStation Exclusive, VR.

A game combining adventure, logic and arcade elements, created specifically for PlayStation VR goggles. Wayward Sky was developed by Uber Entertainment - the creators of Monday Night Combat or Planetary Annihilation. The player assumes the role of a young female pilot called Bess, who, along with her father, crashes in a mysterious fortress protruding from the clouds. The old man is taken prisoner by the hostile robots and the player's goal is to save him, getting past various obstacles that happen to get in the protagonist's way. Generally, Wayward Sky is a point-and-click adventure game which focuses primarily on solving puzzles. Contrary to the classics of the genre however, puzzles here not always require only thinking - arcade elements appear for instance when the player has to control an awkwardly-moving robot in order to press certain buttons which cannot be reached by the protagonist. Wayward Sky stands out with its fairy-tale-like visuals contributing to the games atmosphere.
