A game developed by an indie studio, GUTS Department, that combines elements of metroidvania and tower defense. The game is set in a fantasy world where the only things left by a technologically advanced civilizations are ruins and powerful artifacts. The main characters, a mechanic called Bart and his granddaughter Clu, declare a war on the Empire – in order to end its hegemony they embark on a journey to find a legendary weapon called the Aegis. During this adventure full of dangers they have to not only visit various locations and avoid countless traps but also solve puzzles (which often require their cooperation – we can switch between the characters freely) and fight with enemies. Sometimes, they have to defend places, characters and objects from incoming waves of enemies – your success in those battles depends on using Bart's abilities that allow him to construct useful items, and making a good use of Clu's skills both in combat and placing traps. During the game we get new equipment and upgrade the already owned one. This allows us to reach previously unavailable places and eliminate increasingly bigger and more dangerous enemies. Aegis Defenders can be played alone or with another player. The developers were inspired by the first few installments in The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy series, which is reflected by the game's pixel-art graphics.

Football Manager Mobile 2018 is a special edition of Football Manager 2018 developed by Sports Interactive, designed for smartphones and tablets. Unlike its original version, the game does not allow a player to experience 3D matches, features poorer database, and simplified interface. On the other hand, the game delivers all of the most important functions. This means that a player has to come up with tactics before each match, change the players, purchase and sell players, tend to the club’s budget, and use the help offered by the talent hunters. All this makes Football Manager Mobile 2018 a much more dynamic game, perfect for e.g. a break during the work; but it also offers many possibilities, which make the game one of the most advanced applications available on the market. The game has been published by Sega and is available at a much smaller price than Football Manager 2018 and Football Manager Touch 2018.

During the game, the player assumes the role of a pilot of a six-story-tall war machine, who works for the United States Free Forces resistance. He is tasked with a mission to fight a privately owned conglomerate - HUMNX. Players get to observe the action from the first-person perspective, and the gameplay builds on battles with hordes of opponents that attack from every possible direction. On the battlefield, one can use the futuristic firearms their mech is equipped with, however, in desperate situations, one can also deal powerful blows with the mech’s gigantic fists. During the combat, the AI-controlled allies make for a helpful company. As the game’s story progresses, one acquires experience points, which allow the player to upgrade their machine and boost its military potential.

Action, 2D, Indie Games, Multiplayer, Splitscreen, Shoot 'em Up, Singleplayer.
A shoot'em up game developed by the independent developer Space Lizard Studio. In the game, the player assumes control of young dragons tasked with fighting an army of hostile robots called Mechaliches, who were able to conquer the protagonists' home planet and kidnap their mother. During the game, the character constantly moves rightwards, eliminates hordes of enemies, and avoids the ever-present obstacles. Of course, one's protégés are not defenseless - they acquire new power-ups allowing them to use machine guns, laser weapons, and cannons. Moreover, as one progresses through the game, they acquire points giving access to various special abilities assigned separately to each weapon. Dragon Bros allows the player to enjoy both single and cooperative local multiplayer modes. Interestingly enough, completed stages of the game can be replayed, e.g. to achieve a higher score - moreover, one can test their skills by playing the game on a higher difficulty level. As the game has been inspired by the classic shoot’em up games, it delivers old-school pixel-art visuals and the dedicated soundtrack written by Gabriel Caruso, who in his works combines modern sound with chiptune music.

Action, FPP, FPS, Historical, World War I, Indie Games, Internet, Co-op, Multiplayer, Online, Shooters.
A standalone expansion to a well-received online FPS developed by BlackMill Games. Like in the base game, the action of Tannenberg takes the players to the World War I. However, this time around one gets to travel to the less known eastern front of the Great War and participate in the historical battles between the Russian Empire and the forces of Germany and Austria-Hungary. Apart from introducing a new faction, the biggest asset of this expansion in the entirely new theater of operations, which differs significantly from the battles that took place in the region surrounding Verdun that one might remember from the base game. Instead of trench warfare, the player gets thrown into more dynamic battles, taking place in large, open areas - in the woods and snow-capped plains - which significantly alters the nature of the gameplay. Other aspects of gameplay remain unchanged, so the level of realism and brutality, the character development mechanic, and the system of acquiring new pieces of gear remain the same. The game delivers a new mode, in which up to 64 players divided into two teams can fight each other on one map.

Realms of Arkania: Star Trail HD is a remake of the second installment in the best-selling RPG series that was originally released in 1994. The remake was developed by Crafty Studios. The game is based on the The Dark Eye tabletop RPG system and its interface was significantly improved and brought to modern standards, which can be seen in character portraits, new icons, and indicators. Realms of Arkania: Star Trail now also has a minimap. The plot continues the story from the previous game of the series. Our heroes have to unite elves and dwarves in order to create an army capable of facing the orcs. To do so, they have to find two powerful artifacts, the Salamander Stone and a legendary dwarven axe. As we play, we lead a party of heroes we have personally created. Exploration of the game's world (mostly made of bigger and smaller towns and dungeons) is presented from a first-person perspective. The point of view changes to isometric when we enter combat. Properly using our characters skills and abilities will make us victorious in battle.

Strategy, Economic, Trains, Singleplayer, Isometric View.
Another installment in a popular Japanese economic strategy game series created by ARTDINK. A-Train Classic returns to the roots of the series. In the game, the player assumes the role of a president of a train company that deals with municipal transport. Among one’s duties, there are train and bus construction, planning routes and connections, as well as purchasing real estates like hotels, stadiums, and factories. Players’ actions affect the development of the city and surrounding villages, while the inhabitants react to players’ decisions in different ways, often causing us some additional troubles that need to be solved. The key to success lies in finding the balance between investments and incomes. Additional aspects, proving the depth of A-Train Classic, are the realistic stock exchange and the flow of time systems, requiring players to maintain their business and renovate their assets. In the game, one can easily find references to the older installments of the A-Train series, both in terms of mechanics and visuals.

Developed by a small independent studio called Sidebar Games, Golf Story is an interesting combination of several video game genres created to deliver the titular golf experience. In the game, the player gets to assume the role of a golf player, who travels the world in search for new challenges and opponents. In terms of mechanics, the game is a combination of Mario Gold and Stardew Valley – Golf Story does not focus only on the matches, enabling the player to participate in a unique adventure, talk to encountered NPCs, and complete numerous tasks. During the game, one can attempt to solve puzzles, complete assignments that boost one’s skills, purchase better pieces of gear, and devote oneself to complete secondary tasks. The matches themselves are based on authentic golf rules. In the game, however, the matches themselves are of highly arcade nature and take place on various golf courses – from the typical grass fields to the special water locations with drifting rafts and crocodiles.
