Castle Story is an RTS featuring a complex economical aspect and with the option of transforming in-game surroundings, built from voxels. It is the debut project of an independent developer, Sauropod, and its production has been backed up by Kickstarter. Castle Story takes the players to a world consisting of several islands floating in the air. The core of the gameplay is designing and building a stronghold, which we later defend against invaders. Players must carefully manage their settlers, who – depending on our needs – can become miners, woodcutters, or builders. Castle Story is powered by the popular Unity Engine. Its vivid, three-dimensional visuals are made entirely of cubic blocks (voxels), similarly to the famous Minecraft.

An official expansion pack for an economic strategy game Tropico 4 from 2011, which was created by Haemimont Games - a Hungarian developer. Again, the player assumes the role of a dictator ruling a small banana republic. In a new story campaign, comprised of 12 different missions, El Presidente's task is to modernize their country, which can get interrupted by treacherous rebels. Switching the time period to the titular modern times resulted in addition of completely new elements, such as the Internet, terrorist organizations, global finance markets or space flights. What's more, the mechanics behind the in-game economy and transportation were upgraded. All of the above is complemented by more than thirty new buildings and structures, as well as modernized versions of buildings that make an appearance in the core game. The aspect of ruling the country directly was enriched with 10 additional edicts allowing the player to restrict the access to the internet or declare a state of emergency for instance.

The game was created by an Ukrainian developer studio with a somewhat unique name – Flying Cafe for Semianimals, whose members formerly worked on such titles as Heroes of Might & Magic V and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. The story focuses on a young man and his robotic female companion, who travel to desert hills of Mongolia. The player has to find his partner’s missing body parts and bring her back to full functionality. The core gameplay has you freely explore the open world, solve logic puzzles and look for hidden objects. Often you get to make various choices that shape the ending of the story. The developers mixed elements of different epochs and cultures coming up with a multidimensional story that eludes clear-cut classification.

A PlayStation 3 compilation of two Resident Evil games that were initially released for Nintendo Wii in years 2007-2009. A cooperative FPP shooter developed by Spiral Game Studios, and a spin-off to ORION: Source – a popular Half-Life 2 modification. ORION: Dino Beatdown takes place in the future. We clash with hordes of dinosaurs on an alien planet divided into three vast locations. During the gameplay, we can either act alone or gang-up into a five-man team. Each of the players assumes the role of a character representing one of the three classes – Assault, Support, or Recon, which use a wide range of weapons and gadgets assigned to each class. Vehicles are an additional highlight – we can choose from buggies, mechs, tanks, or flying machines. By completing tasks and killing enemies, we acquire credits which we can spend on new weapons, abilities, upgrades or vehicles, delivered to a spot of our choice. Despite the low-budget feel of the game, the visuals are pleasant, characterized by fresh colors and a huge number of special effects.
