JETT: The Far Shore is a science fiction action adventure game that combines the exploration of a large, open world with a strong storyline. The game was developed and released by Superbrothers and Pine Scented Software. One of the creators of the Thief series, Randy Smith, also took part in the work on this game.
The action of JETT: The Far Shore takes place on an unknown planet, where a large part of the earth is covered by oceans. Playing the role of an astronaut named Mei, the player tries to find the source of a mysterious interstellar signal known as Hymnwave, which led civilization to try to explore space.
JETT: The Far Shore is an action adventure game with an open world. The gameplay is mostly exploration (we travel in a vehicle called Jett), although from time to time there is also a combat (one of the potential dangers are giant creatures - Colossus). In the course of the game, the player has to research the plants and animals he or she encounters and deal with various challenges, using his or her vision and tools (the game draws inspiration from a sub-genre of immersive sim, which includes such productions as Deus Ex and Prey).
In JETT: The Far Shore we can only play alone. The core of the game is a role-playing campaign, but after its completion we can also take part in end game activities. At this stage of the game, the elements typical for immersive sims become more important.
JETT: The Far Shore has an attractive, three-dimensional graphic design. The game doesn't try to be overly realistic, instead it focuses on stylized graphics and subdued colors. The game also uses 3D sound. Scntfc is responsible for the soundtrack - the band A Shell In the Pit was also involved in the music.
