A colorful party game with the titular cats. In Jumping Jazz Cats we participate in platforming mini-games designed for up to nine people. The feline protagonists can jump, climb the curtains or ride the rails. The game's jazz music can actively influence the gameplay.
Jumping Jazz Cats is a social skill game in which we participate in cooperative and competitive platforming mini-games. This is the debut project of the independent studio Le Catnip Collective. The game was published by Team17 company, known for the Worms series.
There are six team mini-games available, including races, food gathering, or big battles between "shadow cats" and powerful lions. In every mini-game, performing acrobatic moves is crucial. The cats we control can slide on railings, swing on chandeliers, climb on curtains or bounce off pillows.
All of this takes place in the Ellington Estate residence. Its spiral staircases, rooms and corridors are filled with obstacles and clusters of furniture.
The jazz music playing in Jumping Jazz Cats can influence the course of the game. We can mix and match levels, categories of fun, and the soundtrack to achieve a diverse effect. We also configure the appearance of our cat protagonists and unlock accessories.
Jumping Jazz Cats allows for fun for a minimum of two and a maximum of nine people in online mode. Four local players can join via split screen.
The game was created using the Unreal engine and Epic Online Services SDK. Jumping Jazz Cats is characterized by cartoonish graphics and ten original jazz tracks playing in the background.
