Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross PC

Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross is an RPG with elements of a roguelike and a card game. It's heavily inspired by The Knights of the Cross, a novel by Henryk Sienkiewicz, and was developed by an indie Chinese team LongYou Game Studio.

Plot

Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross is set in a fantasy world inspired by the Middle Ages. The main setting is the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, facing the threat of the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, also known as the Teutonic Order. The playable character must traverse the war-torn land, gather allies and fend off the enemy once and for all.

Mechanics

Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross mostly revolves around combat. Combat is turn-based and card-based, each card corresponding to a character's skill. To succeed, we must exploit the enemies' weaknesses and chain our attacks into effective combos.

As we progress through the game, our deck grows in power and size. We'll also recruit allies of various classes (archers, fighters, mages) and numerous skills that increase our team's combat potential.

There are also numerous objectives to complete and decisions to make, which affect the course of the story.

Technical aspects

Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross makes use of pixel art. The character portraits are illustrated in a manga-like artstyle.
