Krzyżacy: The Knights of the Cross PC

Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross is an RPG with roguelike and card game elements. The game , which draws handfuls from the novel Krzyzacy by Henryk Sienkiewicz, was developed by the indie Chinese team LongYou Game Studio.

Plot

Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross takes us on a journey to a fantastic world inspired by the medieval era. The production takes us to Poland (the Polish Crown) and Lithuania (the Grand Duchy of Lithuania), which are struggling against the threat of the Teutonic Order (Order of the Hospital of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the German House in Jerusalem, whose members were called Teutonic Knights). We take on the role of a hero who travels through the war-torn land and gathers a team of daredevils, together with whom he will be able to once and for all eliminate the danger from the eternal enemy of his homeland.

Game mechanics

The pillar of gameplay in Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross is the fight against enemies. Battles, which we watch from the sidelines, take place in turn-based mode, and during them we play cards corresponding to the skills of individual characters. The key to success is to use abilities that target the weak points of individual enemies, and to combine attacks into the most effective combinations possible.

As we progress, we compose an ever more extensive and powerful deck. In addition, as time goes by, we are joined by allies; they represent various professions (such as archer, warrior or even mage) and have unique skills that increase the combat potential of the whole team.

Besides, during the game we complete various tasks, as well as deal with following the story and making decisions that affect its further course.

Technical aspects

Graphics in Krzyzacy: The Knights of the Cross is made in pixel art technique. The whole game is varied by colorful illustrations made in manga style.
