Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Description
The fourth installment of the popular series of arcade fighting games in which characters from Capcom games (including ones from Street Fighter) are facing Marvel Comics superheroes like Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America. Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite for PC, PS4 and XONE enables the players to join forces against an enemy team both in solo and multiplayer mode. The effective battles are played on three-dimensional arenas on which the players can move in two dimensions.
Plot
Two antagonists of both universes combine into one powerful creature known as Ultron Sigma. They are attempting to take control over the united worlds of Marvel and Capcom. The heroes of both dimensions intend to stop the villain. In order to do that, they must find four Infinity Stones. Before they achieve this goal, first they must face a group of enemies led by Jedah Dohma.
Gameplay
Similarly to previous entries in the series, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite for PC, PS4 and XONE is a three-dimensional fighting game in which the players face each other in teams of two. When playing alone, the player can freely switch between his characters – even in the middle of an attack. The playable characters include Marvel heroes (including Captain America, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thanos and Thor) and characters known from Capcom games (for example, Chris Redfield, Chun-Li, Dante, Frank West, Mega Man X, Nathan Spencer, Ryu and Zero). The battles take place on three-dimensional levels that are combined versions of locations from both worlds (for example, Valkanda is a hybrid of Wakanda and Val Habar).
Infinity Stones are a new feature in the game. Before each battle the player can select one stone that provides him with special power during the battle (like repelling the opponent or dragging him closer). After filling a special bar it is possible to use a stronger power of a stone. For example, it can provide damage bonus or it can stop the enemy.
Game modes
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite for PC, PS4 and XONE features a few-hours-long story mode and a few singleplayer modes: training mode, missions and arcade mode. It also features a multiplayer mode in which players can play in friendly and ranking matches.
Technical aspects
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite for PC, PS4 and XONE is powered by Unreal Engine 4. The battles take place on three-dimensional maps, although the possibility to move through them is limited. The battles are accompanied by many spectacular special effects.
