A third main entry in the popular jRPG series, started in 2002 on PlayStation 2 console. The production, developed by Square-Enix, is a closing act of the story taking place in a unique fantasy universe, which combines the worlds of several movies and TV dramas created by Disney with the Final Fantasy series. The main characters are Sora, Riku, and Kairi from the previous games, along with well-known Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or Goofy. We witness the final face-off between light and dark, the latter embodied by an organization named XIII, led by master Xehanort. While the visuals have been significantly enhanced, Kingdom Hearts III employs the mechanics and fighting system known from its predecessors. We observe the game’s world from third-person perspective, while during the real-time battles we can count on the support from our two allies, each with a unique set of skills.

In this world, we participate in online battles between teams of several people assuming the roles of well-known characters from the abovementioned games. Each of them falls under one of four classes – assassin, warrior, specialist, or support – and is characterized by their own set of unique skills. The teamwork is the key to victory. The 20-minute long duels taking place on different arenas have one goal: to take over the opponent’s base and not let them do the same with ours. The authors emphasize the user-friendliness of gameplay and control system, making the game accessible even for inexperienced players.

An enhanced port of Mario Kart 8 developed for Nintendo Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe reprises a lot of elements known from the two previous installments of the series, such as motorcycles, gliders, the ability to perform somersaults, or underwater racing. However, the developers introduced an interesting novelty – anti-gravity racing, in which we can stick to walls or even to the ceiling. The game doesn’t contain a story-driven single player campaign – we focus on taking part in a series of competitions in which we can race against AI-controlled opponents, as well as other players. Mario Kart 8 contains several multiplayer variants, including online as well as local game modes (split-screen, or a wireless mode for up to eight players). The new edition contains all of the content present in the original game, including released add-ons, at the same introducing new tracks and characters, such as Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, King Boo, Dry Bones, or Bowser Jr.

A spin-off to the popular jRPG series created by Square Enix. World of Final Fantasy was created with younger players in mind. The plot of the game takes place in Grimoire – a completely new world, but the characters and creatures from all previous installments of the series make an appearance. What’s interesting, Grimoire has been divided into two dimensions: in the first of them, the characters look normal, while in the second one they assume the sweet form of chibi. The main characters of the story are Rain and Lon, twins who fulfill their great destiny, experiencing various adventures. When it comes to mechanics, the title is similar to the previous entries in the series, including typical exploration segments and turn-based enemy encounters making use of the Active Time Battle system. Nevertheless, the whole gameplay has been somewhat simplified in order not to scare away the younger players. An interesting feature of the game are the taming mechanics, with animals acquired this way helping us during encounters.

A jRPG title developed for Wii U console by studio Atlus and the Nintendo company. We play as a teenage boy named Itsuki Aoi, who accidentally becomes part of the talent agency Fortuna Entertainment. Our hero learns about the existence of mysterious creatures from different dimensions called Mirages, which attack our world unnoticed and absorb human energy known as Performa. Allying himself with a few friendly Mirages, the boy steps up to fight against the enemy. We explore two districts of Tokyo, meet NPCs and complete side quests. We also travel to another world, which is simply a huge dungeon. Fights take form of turn-based battles on separate arenas. We lead our team, with each member having unique magic abilities. Visuals of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE are quite colorful.

Blade Strangers features ten playable characters with unique appearances, abilities, and special attacks, with eye-catching scantily clad warrior girls. The combat system was inspired by the popular Super Smash Bros series, while also taking into account fighting game novices. Blade Strangers features several gameplay modes. Apart from the story campaign, consisting of a series of arcade duels, there is also a training mode, in which you can test the attacks of every character, and online battles. You can also try to complete certain tasks, such as e.g. defeating your enemy as quick as possible with a special attack. The arenas on which you fight are 3D, while the character models are 2D sprites.

The story features a fictional world combining token locations and buildings from the aforementioned games. Furthermore, players have a few hundreds unique characters at their disposal, ready to be added to the team. The gameplay is divided into two segments – the first one is presented in an isometric view and involves world exploration aimed at searching for suitable items and characters, it employs a turn-based system and each move on the world map requires a particular number of action points. When facing an opponent, however, the player is taken to a battlefield to control two characters and summon a third one to perform a special attack.

Mario Kart 8 is – despite its name – the eleventh part of the famous arcade racing series from Nintendo, as well as the first installment created for the Wii U console. Once again we can take control of the Nintendo's most famous characters, driving their wacky vehicles. In terms of mechanics, the game borrows several solutions from the previous titles, such as underwater races or performing airborne stunts to gain points, and offers vehicles like motorcycles and gliders. Aside from well known boxes with various power-ups, racing tracks are filled with coins known from Super Mario Kart. One of the most important innovations are anti-gravity races, during which we can drive on walls and even ceilings. This is completed by traditional multiplayer modes, which allow for online or split-screen competition with other players.

A fighting game developed by Namco combining the features of two competing series: Tekken and Street Fighter, each representing a somewhat different approach to the genre and contending for the title of best virtual fighting game. Production of this title began simultaneously with the development of Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken, but unlike its competitor it features the mechanics and visuals of the Tekken series. Compared to earlier titles from said franchise, the game stands out due to slightly different set of characters to choose from. In Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroine Infinite, there are tens of female characters from the aforementioned company’s portfolio; these include playable warriors and AI-controlled partners. Apart from standard attacks, each of them has their own arsenal of combos and special strikes. The gameplay is enriched by an original support system — before each fight, we may select two additional characters who will help us once summoned. Depending on the chosen duo, they can combine their skills in many different ways. The title also offers a multiplayer mode in which we gain experience levels and ranks that advance us in the online leaderboard.
