Mechajammer Release Date PC
The project started life in 2015 as Copper Dreams and strongly deviated from the final form of the game. Back then, the game offered simple but reasonably realistic 3D graphics. Also, the storyline was completely different. Instead, the basic premise of the gameplay was preserved: in each incarnation, it was a turn-based RPG with an open world giving a lot of freedom while completing missions.
The game takes us to the distant future, offering a vision of the world combining elements of cyberpunk and horror. The action is set in a colony on a jungle-covered alien planet. The player takes on the role of commander of a squad of deserters whose ship crashed on the surface of this world. In order to leave it, it will be necessary to gather a lot of funds and win many favors among the locals.
Mechajammer is an RPG set in an open world. During the game we have to make alliances, gather information, bribe enemies and, above all, complete missions. During the campaign we explore both the big city, the cultist-controlled underground of this metropolis and the jungle around it.
The game offers a turn-based combat system, in which the player can calmly give orders to his characters, and then has to passively observe how they are carried out simultaneously with the commands of the AI controlling the enemies.
The game world is filled with various characters, which we can recruit, and then develop their skills. However, we create the main character ourselves, and the system responsible for it offers great freedom in choosing the specialization of our protagonist.
Mechajammer is strongly non-linear. Tasks can be performed in many different ways, and the decisions we make largely shape the course of the story.
The game offers a single player mode only.
Mechajammer has an attractive graphic design, combining retro style with modern solutions. Characters are 2D sprites, while locations and objects in the environment were made in 3D, but covered with pixelated textures. All of this is supported by additional filters and an advanced lighting model.
