Old World: Wrath of Gods is the sixth expansion for the 4X turn-based strategy game titled Old World, released in 2021. The expansion was developed by the authors of the original, namely Mohawk Games studio.

New features in the expansion

Disasters

The biggest novelty introduced in Old World: Wrath of Gods are the cataclysms that we have to face. We are talking about volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, sandstorms, epidemics, droughts, and fires. Each disaster affects both the appearance of the world and the course of the game.

They force us to adapt to new conditions, and their occurrence is not always associated with a deterioration of our situation. By adapting to them, we can strengthen our position and also expand the sphere of influence of our country. On the other hand, each of them can drag us down if we are not properly prepared.

Humankind, Old World and Ara: History Untold are unlikely to knock Civilization off the 4X strategy throne (even together). Nonetheless, the recent changes and new features in these titles have won praise from players.
