A remastered edition of the unusual musical strategy game Patapon, originally released in 2008 for PSP. In the game, you accompany the members of the dying society of little warriors called the Patapons, who embark on a dangerous journey, during which they fight using swords, spears, and bows to earn what they deserve. The gameplay focuses on leading the group of creatures and facing adversities, including enemies big and small.
Patapon Remastered for PS4 is an upgraded edition of Patapon, which was originally released for PSP. It is a unusual musical strategy game and its new version, apart from improved visuals, features additional advantages due to the DualShock 4 pad support.
The Patapons are the members of a dying society, who need to take care of their further survival in the face of danger. The creatures — each of them basically consisting of an eye with small arms and legs — arm themselves with swords, spears, and arrows, and embark on a dangerous journey to earn what they deserve. It is up to the player whether they will succeed or not.
The gameplay in Patapon Remastered for PS4 focuses on leading a group of the warrior creatures and facing adversities, which include enemies big and small. You issue orders by pressing the pad buttons to the rhythm of music to create a given sequence. Depending on the melody you play, your army can move forwards, assume a defensive stance or attack. It can also perform a combo that boosts efficiency. To succeed in the game you need a good sense of rhythm and quick decision-making skills, as the gameplay pace is very fast.

Game Ratings for Patapon Remastered Video Game.
PlayStation Universe: 6.5 / 10 by Zachary Lyons
Patapon Remastered most certainly looks and plays the part, shining beautifully on the PS4 with zero hiccups in gameplay during my experience. Due to the repetitive grindy nature, however, it is best left bookending longer play sessions of other games, and is ill-suited to a home console, unless you could take it on the go as well, as with the Switch.
Critical Hit: 8 / 10 by Geoffrey Tim
Patapon's primal rhythmic challenges and its keen real-time strategy blend together to create an unusual yet still unique game that's as charming as ever. It does however, feel better suited to being played on a handheld than on the big screen.
