Action 22 August 2015

A free production from an independent Belgian developer, Thomas Kole, who decided to combine two of his favorite games: the famous shooter Half-Life 2 and the psychedelic shooter Hotline Miami. In the resulting title, Half-Life Miami, we assume the role of a physicist, Gordon Freeman, and are taken to the locations known from the legendary production by Valve where we decimate enemies with the iconic Gravity Gun.

A typical example of a metroidvania game. It was developed by an independent American studio Renegate Kid. The player assumes the role of a lone astronaut who is tasked with exploring the surface of four dangerous planets. Although the player can visit each planet from the beginning of the game (by using a spaceship), it is quickly revealed that, in order to reach hardly accessible places, they must first obtain various upgrades.

The next installment of the action games series, set in the universe of the cult science fiction film from 1982 and its continuation TRON: Legacy from 2010. The publisher of the title is traditionally Disney Interactive corporation, specializing in the production of games based on film hits.

A multiplayer-oriented first person action game developed by Hi-Rez. The action takes place in a slightly unusual fantasy world featuring advanced technology, including firearms and vehicles. Ironically, all of the technological advancements present here are powered by magic. The gameplay focuses on online battles between small groups of players controlling characters belonging to different available classes, each having distinctive weapons and four unique skills.

Another DLC to a best-selling sandbox survival game - Don’t Starve. Unlike the previous two add-ons, this one was developed not by the original creators, but by Capybara Games - the team known for such games as Below or Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery. Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked focuses solely on single player content, drawing inspiration from the cult adventure novels, such as Robinson Crusoe. However, these were enriched with fantasy elements and a unique sense of humor.

An action game with strategy game elements and plot written by William Gibson, the legendary science-fiction writer, known as the father of cyberpunk subgenre. MEG 9: Lost Echoes takes us into distant future, to an alternative dimension created for scientific purposes. When the communication between the research facility located in the research area and Earth gets cut off, the player enters action as a pilot of a massive battle vehicle to find out what is going on.

The second expansion pack for Battlefield Hardline, developed by Visceral Games. The form of the second expansion remains unchanged; its main feature is the addition of several new multiplayer maps, namely The Docks, Museum, Break Point, and Precinct 7. Apart from that, a new game mode has been added - Squad Heist, which based on the Squad Rush mode from Battlefield 4. In this mode, ten players divided into two teams compete against one another.

An action game developed by Omega Force, based on a fantasy novel entitled Arslan Senki. The production uses the script and character models prepared with a comic adaption in mind. Moreover, the game features voice actors known from the anime TV series. The action of Arslan: The Warriors of Legend takes place in a fictional world inspired by Persian history and culture. After the mysterious death of his father, the prince of Pars is forced to flee for his life.

An enhanced version of Gods Eater Burst that – unlike the original – also appeared on PC and the PlayStation 4 console. God Eater Resurrection is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in which humanity’s habitat on Earth is threatened by appearance of powerful monsters known as Aragami. Players take control of a teenager, who joins an organization dedicated to extermination of those beasts.

A 2D shooter game played from the top-down view. The game was inspired by action films from the 1980s and the plot here constitutes a loose mixture of different movie premises and various things that happened to the protagonist, delivering a parodistic vision of the era. The protagonist is accompanied by five other characters that help him ridicule popular action film tropes and characters.

Three-dimensional action game, combining elements of classic shooting, simulator and adventure game. We play the role of a lonely soul that awakens without remembrance in a mysterious temple, located inside an indefinite mechanical unit. The game boils down to eliminating waves of enemies and fighting bosses, but the game does not lack interaction with various objects and numerous logical puzzles.

A mobile arcade shooter featuring endless runner mechanics, distributed in a free-to-play system with not too obtrusive microtransactions. Shooty Skies was developed by the same team that was responsible for the surprisingly well-received Crossy Road.

A video game adaptation of Man O’ War – a popular tabletop game from the Warhammer Fantasy universe. Man O’ War: Corsair is an action game developed by Evil Twin Games, giving us the opportunity to command our own pirate ship. The game is focused mainly around the exploration of an open world – aside from lengthy naval travels, we can visit various ports and engage in trade, or battle enemy vessels.

Midair is an online FPS inspired by the Tribes series. The game revolves around battles between two teams, members of which are equipped with jetpacks providing them with extreme mobility and enabling them to travel between different parts of a map incredibly fast.

A retro-futuristic platformer game by Cococucumber, an independent Canadian studio. In Planet of the Eyes, we assume the role of a robot who crash-lands on a completely alien planet after the malfunction of an interstellar shuttle. Trying to find a way out of the situation, the protagonist explores the beautiful but also incredibly dangerous place where a myriad of logic puzzles and complicated traps await him. Mechanics-wise, the game somewhat resembles the cult Limbo.

Overkill 3 is another installment of the mobile third-person shooter game series. The game takes place in an unspecified future where soldiers use state-of-the-art technologies like heavy duty nanosuits, drones, armed jeeps and powerful, spider-like, combat robots. We play as a civilian who fights for the resistance and uses the same military technology. As we play, we will explore the game's locations and use all kinds of customizable arms to eliminate hordes of enemies and powerful bosses.

An upgraded version of the fourth installment in the Samurai Warriors series, which came out for the tenth anniversary of the franchise. Developed by Omega Force, the game was released not only for Sony consoles, but also for PCs. The game is a conventional TPP hack-and-slash, featuring spectacular battles. Samurai Warriors 4-II is set in Feudal Japan, and the player takes part in subsequent skirmishes, fighting both smaller groups of enemies and entire armies.

A tactical team shooting FPS, inspired by the first installments of the cult Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series. In this game, we play the role of members of an international assault unit within Interpol and face dangerous drug cartels and terrorist organisations from all over the world. The game places particular emphasis on the planning and preparation aspect, which is as important here as the implementation of the mission itself.

An online FPP/TPP shooter from set in the survival horror universe of the Resident Evil franchise, developed by Capcom. Game mechanic combines the elements of the rather coldly received Operation Racoon City and popular online shooters like Counter-Strike. The gameplay revolves around fast and eye-catching skirmishes with teams of armed mercenaries representing powerful corporations competing on the field biological weapon development.

A humorous top-down shooter created by the independent developer team at Team2Bit. The action takes place in 1986 when a mysterious organization kidnaps the leaders of the world's two main superpowers: Reagan and Gorbachev. With both the world peace and themselves being at risk, the two presidents have to put aside their differences and join forces, for only cooperation will allow them to escape and prevent a nuclear apocalypse. The gameplay mechanics are inspired by classic top-down shooters.

A comical sneaking game developed by French studio, Moving Player. The player becomes a typical white collar working for one of the big corporations. The protagonist, who is notoriously late to work, is given an ultimatum: if he's late one more time, he's fired. When the main character had once again overslept after a party night, the only way for him to avoid the consequences is to sneak into his workplace without anyone noticing.

A remastered version of 1998's Battlezone, combining elements of action and RTS games. Developer Rebellion focused on enhancing visual resolution and upgrading the interface, while keeping gameplay almost identical to the original edition. Therefore, Battlezone 98 offers the same original single player campaigns presenting an alternative version of the Cold War. You are in control of either the USA or USSR forces during an open conflict taking place on the planets of the Solar System.

The things that count in Carmageddon include not only your score, but also the damage you inflicted, and the number of pedestrians you ran over. It was developed by Stainless Games, the creators of all the previous titles in the franchise as well as a number of productions from the Magic: The Gathering franchise.

A first-person shooter created by Richard Seabrooke, set in the world of Half-Life. Prospekt started as a fan-made modification that eventually, thanks to the help from Valve and the players' great interest in the game, became an independent commercial product . The story runs parallel to the events of Half-Life 2. When Gordon Freeman is in a need of assistance, his Vortigaunt allies decide to bring in a commando by the name of Adrian Shephard, a character known from Half-Life: Opposing Force.
