Designed by an independent developer Digital Media Workshop, a first-person point-and-click adventure game set in a science fiction environment. The main hero wakes up one day in a strange place that looks like an advanced research facility with all sorts of specialized medical instruments. As he tries to understand how he got there and what is the purpose of the place, the protagonist finds out that the key to the mystery lies in the vast data base available via local information systems.

The adventure in which we play the role of Nicole Bonnet, a FIB agent prosecuting a dangerous criminal. During the game we gather evidence, look for clues, listen to witnesses. Most of these activities are presented in the form of logic-arcade mini-games. Noteworthy is the interesting graphics - 3D characters have been juxtaposed with nice backgrounds.

The main character is again Mina, and the player is supposed to help her to restore the barriers protecting the title island before it is destroyed by the approaching catastrophe. Kheops developers have remained true to the classic point & click interface, but have introduced new gameplay elements, including the ability to steer a monkey named Jep.

The protagonist was exorcised by the eponymous organization, which fights dark forces, and decides to join it, having lost their previous life, including their home, family, and friends. The production is kept in a horror atmosphere and tells the story of a small village of Hinamizawa, which in June 1983 became the scene of a series of brutal murders. The game boils down primarily to passive tracking of the plot presented in text form enriched with simple pictures.

The game is a sort of poetic visual story with such themes as childhood, memories, and hope. Interestingly, this is a work of basically one man, who only used the help of his closest family. Home is Where One Starts… tells a story of a teenage girl who leaves her home for school early in the morning, but misses her bus.

The expansion, called Inheritance, does not introduce any changes in the game’s mechanics, offering instead a brand new story, whose action takes place many years after the story of the original. Players don’t control the painter himself, but his daughter – she learns that after the death of her father, the house now belongs to her.
