Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is an attempt by the Persona Team to introduce the Shin Megami Tensei series: Persona on a new hardware platform - the Nintendo 3DS console. The developers used a number of solutions known from the Etrian Odyssey cycle

The axis of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth's plot are rumours about the so-called "Seven Wonders of Yasogami Lyceum" and the mysterious clock tower and labyrinth that appear in the school courtyard during the Cultural Festival. Legend has it that anyone who hears the clock will die. By chance, its sound reaches the ears of SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad) group members, who are automatically transferred to the Yasogami Lyceum.

The game features more than 20 heroes known from Persona 3 and Persona 4 (including Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, Akihiko Sanada, Yosuke Hanamura, Chie Satonaka and Rise Kujikawa), as well as several completely new ones. The player controls the actions of one hero, but other characters can join the team while playing.

The gameplay is maintained in the dungeon-crawler style. He enjoys exploring the vast mazes and duels with Shadows. Combat mechanics is based on a turn-based system and is largely based on solutions from earlier versions of the Persona cycle.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth remained faithful to the anime style. Three-dimensional graphics used in the game draws attention with intense colors and a large number of special effects (explosions, flashes, etc.), which accompany the struggle with enemies. The progress of the plot is illustrated with numerous animated interludes.
