R-Type Dimensions is a set of two classic productions, which appeared in game rooms. SouthEnd Interactive studio, known from Commanders: Attack of the Genos, Deathrow and alterations of another historical position - Lode Runner (Xbox 360), is responsible for creating a new and refreshed version of cult shooters. The title was published by Tozai Games.
As part of the set we actually receive two different productions, which make up the title series. R-Type is an extremely difficult production from 1987, which broke into the game halls with a hit. In the game we control a small ship and our task is to stop the evil alien race known as Cattle. During the fun we can collect a lot of upgrades and bonuses as well as naturally new weapons. The work of Irem has been equally successfully continued, i.e. R-Type II published in 1989. The second installment introduced a new ship, several previously insignificant levels and even more different assortments, thanks to which it was easier to defeat strangers.
R-Type Dimensions combines these two titles and introduces many unique innovations. In addition to the classic fun modes, offering everything that two games from the second half of the 80's of the last century, we have prepared one completely exclusive - Infinite. It makes gameplay much easier and allows for a smooth transition from the first hand to the last boss, regardless of the player's skill level. You can play alone, but also with a friend, playing on one screen or via the Internet. In the cooperation mode, there is a simple system to resurrect each other and an optional collision mode, in which you also have to watch out for your partner's vehicle.
An important aspect of the new version of the historical shooters is also a completely new audiovisual setting, making use of the vast possibilities of the console. What is interesting, the authors have prepared two versions of the game - an original two-dimensional and a completely new three-dimensional one. We can switch between them at any time. The gameplay is also diversified by a slightly crazy camera, showing the events from an unusual perspective. The system that allows you to select individual levels and continue playing since the last scored point of registration is a big help.
