An adventure game in which we explore the mysteries of the deep sea. In Silt we play as a diver exploring a surreal underwater world alone. The protagonist can take control of some sea creatures, which allows him to solve environmental puzzles.
Silt is an adventure game, in which we can find elements characteristic for the bestseller Limbo and warmly welcomed Abzu. Game was developed by independent studio Spiral Circus and was published by Sold Out.
Silt takes us on a journey to the intriguing underwater world. During the game we play as a diver who discovers the secrets of the deep sea. The protagonist travels alone, but from time to time he can count on help from the creatures inhabiting the bottom of the ocean.
Silt is a side-scroller. The gameplay is slow-paced and you explore the sea depths in a peaceful manner, admiring the surreal world full of fantastic structures, strange life forms, unexplored ruins and ancient machinery that can terrify and delight at the same time. The protagonist has the ability to take control of selected sea creatures and, using their abilities, can remove obstacles encountered along the way or solve environmental puzzles that block the way forward.
Silt features monochromatic graphics, which combined with an atmospheric soundtrack creates a unique atmosphere.

Silt is a unique game that perfectly blends the themes of horror and isolation. Due to the abominations that manifest within, unease spreads throughout and you will second-guess every narrow path. The wonderful puzzles offer a suitable level of challenge which will you keep you content. Even though the movement is a little rigid and it is relatively short, it’s a brilliant experience that taps into the darkest, depths of thalassophobia.

Because of everything that is spectacular about Silt – its stunning art style, atmospheric environments, and pensive story – I wanted to love this game. It just wouldn’t let me. Exasperating puzzles with little guidance frequently slowed my progress to a halt and left me banging my head against a wall. Even so, I still encourage players to pick up the title, if for no other reason than to experience so gorgeous a game.
