Star Wars: The Old Republic - Legacy of the Sith PC

Star Wars: The Old Republic - Legacy of the Sith is a feature add-on to the cult MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic. It was published by Canadian company BioWare, also known for its work on such series as Dragon Age or Mass Effect. The expansion was created in celebration of the 10th birthday of the main game. The add-on, like the previous ones, is fully free.

Plot

The war between the Republic and the Sith Empire continues and spreads to new worlds. The story presented in the expansion focuses on Darth Malgus - a renegade Sith who, after the events in the Meridian complex, decides to act on his own, secretly carrying out his plan.

In the expansion players go to the planet Manaan, where they have to fight battles in the underwater location. They are also transferred to the planet Elom on which there is a ruined Sith stronghold, for unknown reasons erased from all records. According to rumors, Darth Malgus - who hunts for ancient relics throughout the galaxy - may have found something of extraordinary importance for the future of the Jedi and the Sith. Uncovering more secrets of the galaxy, players will eventually learn about Malgus' ultimate plan.

Mechanics

Legacy of the Sith introduces many gameplay improvements. For example, the maximum level of the player's character has been increased to 80. An interesting option is also the introduction of the Combat Styles. The player has the possibility to assign to his hero abilities from other classes, related to him technologically or by the power of archetypes. The hero can now use weapons that belong to another class, e.g. a Trooper with two blasters, and a Jedi with the dark side of the Force. This feature is also followed by an improved combat system.

The game introduces new quests that will make time more enjoyable for players familiar with Star Wars: The Old Republic. Those who are new to the game can count on a streamlined development system that will introduce them naturally to the story available so far.

Players can fight battles in separate Sith Empire and Republic story lines. Completing the Manaan plotline unlocks a new base of operations for the player faction, along with a new daily area. In the next stage of the story, set on the planet Elom, the player has the option to continue the story line both solo and in multiplayer. Flashpoint Elom also features different difficulty levels. In addition, the expansion introduces Operation R-4 Anomaly, in which players must gather allies to eliminate a galactic threat together.

Technical aspects

Legacy of the Sith expansion features 3D graphics. The game's elements such as the character creator, the stats screen and the inventory have been updated.
