A science fiction RPG with a turn-based combat system, based on the license of the paper RPG Starfinder. In Starfinder: Afterlight, we can gather a party and rescue the galaxy from destruction. It's the first project of the Spanish indie studio Epictellers Entertainment.
Starfinder Roleplaying Game is a tabletop RPG released by Paizo Publishing, which uses rules similar to Pathfinder. While creating their debut project, the independent Spanish studio Epictellers Entertainment obtained its license, allowing them to develop an RPG video game titled Starfinder: Afterlight.
In Starfinder: Afterlight the action is viewed in an isometric view.
The game transports us to a universe on the border of science fiction and fantasy, known as the Pact Worlds. We take control of a character who, in the face of their captain's disappearance, must save the galaxy from the looming destruction on the horizon. Our actions and the choices we make influence the course of the story and its ending.
The adventure, which takes 40-60 hours to complete, leads us through diverse location in the galaxy, such as Absalom Station or Eox, which is an empire of the undead. We get to know the locals and the factions shaking the entire galaxy (whose attitude towards us is shaped by our decisions), we pick up quests, and above all - we gather a team of daredevils similar to us, among whom we will find an android killer or a mystical prophet.
Various classes were implemented in the game, represented by our character and their companions. We're talking about a soldier, messenger, agent, mystic, solarian, and so-called witchwarper. Each of them has been equipped with a unique set of strengths and weaknesses, as well as abilities, the skillful use of which is key to victory on the battlefield.
And speaking of combat - battles with opponents take place in turn-based mode. On our path stand adversaries characteristic for the Starfinder universe, such as hellknights or digital ghosts. The fights are based on the three-action system designed by Paizo, which each character can use in their turn. As we progress, we develop our team and gather better equipment, which allows us to face increasingly bigger challenges.
