Pahdo Labs is an independent American development studio based in New York. Their debut project is a coop action RPG dungeon crawler, enriched with MMO and roguelike elements. The developers were inspired by Hades, Terraria, and RuneScape, but also by Sailor Moon.

Starlight Re:Volver, which is the production in question, transports us to a universe on the border of fantasy and science fiction. During the game, we play as so-called "Divers". They are characters capable of transporting themselves to a fantasy world called So Mi, using the titular Re:Volvers for this purpose.

Gameplay

In Starlight Re:Volver the action is viewed in an isometric view.

Characters

The game allows us to embody one of the characters, differentiated in terms of fighting style and skills. Effy is a beginner Diver fighting in close combat, experienced Kira eliminates enemies at a distance, Ren is a mentor who can support allies and actively participate in the fight, while Vivi mainly relies on technology.

Fighting opponents

The choice we made is important, because while traversing So Mi, we often have to engage in dynamic battles with opponents. Depending on where we are, we can encounter ghosts, robots, or ancient guardians on our path. On the battlefield, we make use of our character's weapons and skills, the range of which we adapt to individual needs and preferences, focusing on defense or offense.

Locations in So Mi and the city of NIM

The adventure leads us through various locations, among which we will find islands floating in the air and space stations. When exploring them, we not only fight enemies, but also gather resources and recipes, which we can then use in the crafting system.
