Hades Video Game Series

Forging iron while hot, Supergiant Games studio decided to break with its previous policy and set to work on the first sequel in its history.. In December 2022, again at The Game Awards gala, the game was officially announced Hades 2. The title appeared in early access on personal computers in May 2024 and enjoyed great popularity and high ratings.

The plot of the games in the Hades series

Games in the series Hades transport us to a universe native to Greek mythology. In the first installment of the series, we play Zagreus, the son of the titular god, who must do everything to escape from his father's kingdom and get to Olympus. In the second part of the series, however, we take control of his sister Melinoë, who leaves Hades and goes in search of the titan Kronos to kill him, preventing him from starting a war with the Olympian deities.

In the productions under the banner of Hades we watch the action in an isometric view. The essence of the gameplay is traversing successive arenas and facing hosts of opponents, whom we eliminate by using the game's power.We eliminate them using a wide range of white weapons and combat skills. Clashes are dynamic and reminiscent of hack'n'slash games, so reflexes and constant movement are important.

Both Zagreus and Melinoë cannot die, so after dying on the battlefield they are reborn and start their crossings all over again.. Moments of respite are provided by visits to starting locations, which act as hubs, where we can select equipment and customize the abilities of the protagonists, as well as talk to NPCs.

Unlike many other titles with elements of the roguelike genre, Death in Hades does not mean the loss of all progress, as some of it is retained. Over time, we gain access not only to increasingly better equipment, but also to new powers offered to us by gods and goddesses, such as Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo, Artemis, Demeter, Hermes or Aphrodite.

In the productions of the series Hades Supergiant Games studio implements colorful, cartoonish graphics. Games in this series allow only single-player gameplay - we will not find in them either a co-op mode or the possibility of fighting with other players.
