Stranger Things 3: The Game is a 2D beat'em up game, the action of which is set in the universe of the famous Netflix series - Stranger Things. This game was created by the independent BonusXP studio (creators of Hooky Crook, Project Demonstone, as well as the previous game based on the Stranger Things) franchise.
Stranger Things 3: The Game features the plot related to the third season of the aforementioned Netflix production.
Stranger Things 3: The Game is an old-school, isometric brawler where we mainly deal with the enemies appearing on the screen. We have at our disposal several characters, each one with different skills (for example, one of them can throw explosive bullets, and another has the ability to charge at the enemies). From time to time, production also forces us to solve very simple puzzles (e.g. activating the right button to open the door).
Stranger Things 3: The Game can be played alone or with others (within the local cooperation mode).
Stranger Things 3: The Game has a simple, 2D retro style visuals that fit well with the 80's Stranger Things atmosphere.

Game Ratings for Stranger Things 3: The Game Video Game.
Game Informer: 6 / 10 by Kyle Hilliard
The video game adaptation of the popular show emulates the '80s aesthetic well, but the action is boring and the missions rarely push you to do more than move from point A to point B
Nintendo Life: 7 / 10 by Dom Reseigh-Lincoln
Stranger Things 3: The Game isn't going to set any gold standards for video game tie-ins, but it does a fine job of capturing all the elements that have made the TV show such a phenomenon. Exploring Hawkins and interacting with the wider cast is really going to appeal to fans of the franchise, but the repetitive quest designs and unremarkable combat can make it a bit of a slog if you've yet to catch the Stranger Things bug. Still, thanks to its appealing visuals, accessible gameplay and atmospheric synthwave soundtrack, there are arguably many worse ways to spend your summer.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 8.5 / 10 by Annette Polis
BonusXP has taken the hit Netflix series and crafted a fun, yet at times frustrating, pixelated adventure game. Some of the boss battles can really try your patience, and limits on recovery items (medkits and Coke) certainly don’t help matters as you push toward the final episode. On the flip side, there are all kinds of hidden areas to return to and explore further; even if I haven’t seen a percentage log, there’s just something about knowing you’ve 100% cleared a game.
