Classic RPG set in the universe of German feature game The Dark Eye. We lead a team of heroes through the fantastic land of Aventuria and go on quests to dungeons - alone or in the company of a group of friends.
The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is an isometric RPG using the license of the The Dark Eye (in original Das Schwarze Auge) tabletop RPG system. The game was developed by Finnish studio Random Potion Oy, for which it was the debut project, and published by Wild River Games. The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes takes us to Aventuria, a land inspired by the Europe at the turn of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, but inhabited by fantastic creatures.
Gameplay in The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes uses a proven formula from classic RPGs. We observe the action from above, and the fun comes down to exploring dungeons. In these we will find valuable treasures, but also various monsters and traps. To face the challenges ahead, we need to create a hero by choosing one of four races, twelve professions and rich personalization options with Inrah cards. The game takes place in real time, and we can use various weapons and magic in combat.
The game enables us to play both solo and in a larger group in the online cooperation mode.
The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes offers three-dimensional visuals complemented by a soundtrack created by Winifred Phillips, a composer known fo omGod of War and Assassin's Creed III. An additional attraction are the graphics on cards, prepared by artists responsible for the visual layer of The Dark Eye tabletop game.

Game Ratings for The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes Video Game.
Wccftech: 5 / 10 by Francesco De Meo
Despite some interesting mechanics that make the game feel like a true adaptation of a tabletop RPG, The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is a cRPG that needed a lot more time in the oven. With some technical issues to boot, it is really impossible to recommend the game in its current state to any type of RPG enthusiast, as there are classic and modern games that offer much better experiences.
CGMagazine: 6.5 / 10 by Zubi Khan
The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is a game that in many ways, takes the essence of a good table-top game and directly translates it into a competent, online dungeon-crawling RPG.
Niche Gamer: 3.5 / 10 by Frank Streva
Considering the fact that Book of Heroes doesn’t even feature a real story or coherent character progression, then I don’t think that even die-hard fans of The Dark Eye will really enjoy it. I don’t know who this game is supposed to be aimed at, but for me it was one of the most boring RPG experiences I’ve had in a long time, and that’s before even getting into all the bugs and genuinely awful design decisions.
