Release Date: December 10, 2025 Early Access
A combination of an RPG and a strategy game. The End of History allows the main protagonist to become whoever we want. We can be a king, control an army, and wage wars, but we may as well decide to become a merchant or even a thief. This project is the work of the Tatamibeya studio.
Tatamibeya is an interesting case of a development studio founded by a Japanese individual, Hiroshi Sakakibara, with its headquarters located in Warsaw, Poland. The company has been involved in projects such as Nostalgic Train and Faraway Train. Its third venture is the production described here, a blend of RPG and strategy games titled The End of History.
In The End of History the action is viewed from a bird's-eye perspective. The current gameplay depends on our actions and the choices we make.
We begin our adventure as an unknown wanderer, and our actions and decisions influence how our character's life unfolds. The protagonist can remain anonymous or, on the contrary, become a famous knight, demonstrate a knack for trade, or stay afloat by stealing and engaging in shady dealings.
The game even allows us to sit on the royal throne and recruit an army, which we will lead into battle against enemy forces. Battles occur in real-time, and the placement of units and their division into formations play an important role.
Naturally, our actions also affect how NPCs inhabiting the game world perceive us. They lead their own lives, which we can influence, but we don't have to.
Regardless of which of these paths we choose, each leads us to the Obelisk. It is a powerful, mysterious object said to hold the wisdom of the entire world. By gathering its fragments, we gradually uncover its secrets.
In The End of History we won't find a predetermined scenario. However, the game sets a narrative backdrop in which a medieval-inspired world is heading towards collapse. To prevent this process driven by divisions and hatred, we must carefully observe the consequences of our actions and choices.
