Story

Threads of Time is an RPG set in the realities of time travel, developed by the Canadian studio Riyo Games and published by Humble Games. The game combines the exploration of historical and futuristic eras of an alternative reality with building a team of heroes representing different timelines. The gameplay is based on classic turn-based battles, character ability synergy, and combo attack mechanics, all enhanced by visuals that combine pixelated 2D animations with a three-dimensional environment.

Gameplay

A fundamental role in Threads of Time is the selection of a team composed of heroes from different eras. Each character has their own abilities, combat archetype, and a set of skills thematically linked to their time of origin - from the primitive strength of prehistoric warriors, through the skills of knights and mages, to heroes using advanced future technology. We can freely change the team composition between missions, allowing us to adapt our strategy to the specifics of the opponents and eras visited during the journey.

The combat system is based on turn-based tactics, skill synergy, and powerful team combinations that become available after filling a shared team gauge. These attacks allow us to break through enemy defenses, interrupt their actions, or deal damage that ignores shields. As a result, combat requires thoughtful planning of the order of our moves, as well as strategic use of supportive and offensive abilities.

Exploration is conducted by moving between timelines, visiting distinctive locations - from prehistoric jungles, through fortified castles, to futuristic metropolises. Each era has its own opponents, threats, and types of challenges that affect the way combat is conducted.

Story

Threads of Time is set in a world where a mysterious catastrophe has led to the collapse of time continuity, causing different eras to intertwine and collide with each other. We join the Knights of Time - a group of heroes who are among the few capable of traveling through the disrupted timelines. Our task is to find the source of the anomaly and restore order before the past, present, and future completely disintegrate.
