Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure is a standalone version of the Borderlands 2 expansion released in 2013, entitled Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. The crazy looter shooter is a prequel to Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and was developed by Gearbox Software and Stray Kite Studios and published by 2K Games.

Plot

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure is set in a fantasy land created by the unbalanced Tiny Tina for an RPG session she plays with her friends. After the queen has been kidnapped, her domain is in great danger and only brave Vault Hunters can face the threat.

The game master weaves her story in a chaotic way and often changes its course, modifies character names and attributes of the enemies she encounters, and even completely rebuilds the locations we visit. All this happens right in front of our eyes and there is nothing left for us to do but to agree to her whims and face the challenges she invented.

Mechanics

The gameplay in Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure follows the same formula as in Borderlands 2. Before starting the game, we choose one of six characters which are differentiated in terms of profession and preferred weaponry. Then there is nothing else left for us but to start the game, during which we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP).

The adventure leads us through dark forests, shivering underground and huge fortresses. Wandering through locations, we complete tasks pushing forward the plot and perform various side missions, as well as take part in countless clashes with enemies. We eliminate skeletons, armored monsters and huge beasts using a wide range of firearms, grenades with magical properties, various gadgets and a variety of combat skills.

As we progress we gain better and better equipment. New equipment can be bought, taken from defeated enemies or found in chests (be careful with that one, because sometimes we come across mimics which pretend to be them). In addition, over time we develop characters and unlock new abilities or improve the ones we already have, which allows us to face more and more challenges.
