The players are divided into two teams, and the objective of each is reducing the opposite teams' tickets to zero by killing the opponents or capturing their flags. The title also lets us participate in historical events, such as ambushes on the Ho Chi Minh trail or defending a bridge during the Tet Offensive. Strategy 05 March 2015
Developed by Johan Nagel in cooperation with Slitherine Strategies, Vietnam ’65 is an unusual turn-based strategy game set in the period of the Vietnam War. The action of the game takes place in 1965 in the Ia Drang Valley, located near the border with Cambodia, where the American government dispatched a powerful military support in order to prevent the unification of this part of the country under a single, communist flag. The gameplay builds on the proprietary “hearts and minds” mechanics – instead of waging an open war, a player has to gain favor with the natives and bring the Vietcong’s inhumane practices to naught. The developers ambitiously wanted to show the reality of the Vietnam War, which, apart from the conventional military operations, featured psychological warfare. The game features mediocre visuals; however, the cross-platform gameplay runs smooth for owners of both PC / Windows and mobile devices.
