WWW Video Games

Actually, browser games are part of the PC games category, but playing in a web browser make them so different that they deserve to be classified as an entirely separate kind of games. Most of the browser games are simple massive multiplayer online titles with poor graphics and many social options. However, there are exceptions to this rule.

The game was developed by Blue Byte Software, creators of The Settlers saga, responsible for the browser versions of various popular games (i.e. The Settlers, Anno, or Silent Hunter). In terms of the plot, Heroes Online continues the story from the last two big games of the series. In the fantasy world of Ashan, two opposing factions fight for power. Each of them has an army made of skilled warriors of different races and classes. There are two basic aspects to the gameplay: real time world exploration, where we also gather resources and recruit our army, and the turn-based tactical battles that take place on hexagonal battlefields. Candies combined in such way disappear and the player receives points. Each level features specific objectives to meet, such as obtaining specified high score or combining a predetermined number of specific candies. The game is more interesting thanks to various bonuses such as explosives which can be detonated after matching a larger number of candies in one go. These explosions can clear large parts of the level at once. The game features colorful, “cartoonish” graphics and it employs a typical free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions.
