XIII is a remake of a FPS game published in 2003 bearing the same title. The game was released by Microids and was created by the PlayMagic studio, a team of developers who previously worked on such series as Halo, Call of Duty, Crysis, Condemned, and Operation Flashpoint.

Plot

The plot of the game is based on the French comic book series by Jean Van Hamme. Players get to meet the main character when he wakes up on a seaside beach. The protagonist, who bears the titular XII tattoo on his shoulder, suffers from amnesia. His main task is to discover the truth about his identity. However, it is complicated by the fact that he is quickly being trampled on by mercenaries and secret agents, as he has identified the sniper behind the assassination of the President of the United States.
