Fishing in Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter World contains multiple extra activities and one of them is fishing. Below you can find information about this activity:

1. You get a lot of requests where you have to catch certain fish. Go to Resource Center and exchange them for rewards.
2. Fish scales of various species have different use. Most of them can be cooked in the Canteen and exchanged for valuable items. Some scales are used in crafting and others have unique properties (they can, e.g. sharpen your weapon faster).
3. Piscine Researchers can be found in various locations - they give you quests where you have to catch certain fish etc.
4. Fishing lets you get new ingredients for the Canteen - you will be able to cook new meals. Completing these quests regularly is important - better meals can strengthen your hunter and make hunts easier.

How to catch fish in Monster Hunter World

1. Equip your character with a Fishing Rod (you always carry one) and go to a river.
2. Choose where you want your lure to land - this can only be done near rivers that have fish.
3. Wait for a fish to catch your bait. You can attract their attention by moving the left analog stick.
4. Wait for your gamepad to start vibrating and press the button displayed on the screen. Keep pressing the buttons displayed on the screen. After that you will catch your fish.
5. You can also use a net to catch them.
