Many fans of the TV series Daredevil may be wondering whether Foggy Nelson ever died in the comics, and if so, whether he's back alive. They look there for their hope for the future of the beloved character, so let's take a look at the fate of his comic book counterpart.
Did Foggy Nelson die in the comics?
Foggy's life has been threatened several times in the comics. In Daredevil (Vol. 2) #82 Matt Murdock found himself in prison after his identity was revealed. Foggy went to visit him there, which, it seemed, ended tragically for him. During the visit, Foggy was attacked and stabbed. Daredevil listened to the whole situation and how his friend's heart began to slow down until it finally stopped beating. In this respect, the scene was very reminiscent of what took place in Daredevil: Born Again.
However, as it later turned out, Foggy only faked his own death. Although his funeral took place, it turned out that Murdock's friend and associate was in the FBI's witness protection program, thanks to the help of Vanessa Fisk. So Foggy survived the situation, as well as the assassination attempt by Elektra on behalf of the Kingpin. Not only that, Foggy even got out of hell in another story.
So it can be said that the comic book Foggy Nelson is a guy who is hard to kill. He always escaped death or only faked his own demise. However, we don't know if the Foggy Nelson from the TV show will be so lucky and it will eventually turn out that he also faked his own death. At this point in the series he is dead and all the characters believe it.
