Premiere of Ahsoka is fast approaching. The show's first trailers revealed that the heroine, played by Rosario Dawson, will have to face new antagonists, introduced specifically for the new Star Wars production. What do we know about Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati?
Baylan and Shin are mercenaries
So far we have learned that Baylan and Shin are mercenaries working for Morgan Elsbeth, who first appeared in The Mandalorian. They were hired to find Admiral Thrawn.
Baylan survived Order 66 and knows about Anakin Skywalker
Ahsoka's official trailer suggests that Baylan knew the protagonist's master, Anakin Skywalker. It's quite possible that the former padawan has already met the new antagonist before. After all, they belong to the same order. However, it is known that Baylan is no longer a Jedi, it is likely that the events surrounding Order 66 caused him to undergo a kind of metamorphosis as a result of trauma.
Shin is Baylan's apprentice
In the shots where we see Shin, you can notice that she wears a padawan braid, which is actually the trademark of all adepts still learning from their Jedi masters. Given the fact that Baylan and Shin work together for the aforementioned Morgan Elsbeth, it can be assumed that we will be dealing with a master-student relationship.
Baylan and Shin wield orange lightsabers
The two antagonists introduce to Ahsoka an item unprecedented in the Star Wars canon. For they wield orange lightsabers, which have never before appeared in live-action Star Wars. However, from the book series Star Wars Legends we know that this color was chosen by those identifying themselves as "gray Jedi", who refused to side with either the Light or Dark Side of the Force.
As a final reminder Ahsoka will debut on Disney+ on August 23. The new villains will be played by Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno.
