Baldur's Gate 3 will offer a wealth of possibilities, but the Dungeon Master mode, which enables us to create our own campaigns, will not be among them. Instead, Larian Studios will give free rein to mod makers.

For the past few weeks, the developers at Larian Studios have been heating up the atmosphere ahead of the release of Baldur's Gate 3. However, players' growing appetite and huge expectations for the RPG may be somewhat disturbed by recent reports from the developers.
"It would be a huge undertaking. I would like to have it, because it would make our work easier, but it would be very complicated," explained Vincke (via PCGamesN).
Although the developer describes the implementation of such tools as an extremely complicated undertaking, recall that Larian Studios succeeded in doing so for Divinity: Original Sin 2. The 2017 game offers a Dungeon Master mode, which enables you to create campaigns based on D&D mechanics.
"We will support modding. We will offer it after the game's release, but not immediately. It will still be quite a challenge to realize it - we have an engine that allows for many things, but the problem is the visual effects that will have to be put into the game," he explained.
In addition, Baldur's Gate 3 will provide players with a really wide range of possibilities - starting with an extremely extensive character creator, through wealth of content, and ending with 17,000 variations of the finale.
Baldur's Gate 3 will debut on August 3 on PC and September 6 on PlayStation 5.
