Larian has updated the system requirements of Baldur's Gate 3. In addition, the developers spoke on the Xbox Series X/S console release.
Steam updated the system requirements for Baldur's Gate III, the highly anticipated RPG that Larian is working on.
The changes mainly concern graphics cards. Previously, the minimum configuration specified a GeForce GTX 780 / Radeon R9 280X, and the recommended - a GeForce GTX 1060 / Radeon RX 580.
The increase in requirements is not surprising. Baldur's Gate III debuted in early access in September 2020, and since then the game has been heavily improved in many aspects, which included visuals.
The updated requirements were published with the upcoming full version of the game in mind. The day before yesterday, the developers announced that edition 1.0 of Baldur's Gate 3 will be released on August 31, this year. A pleasant surprise was the announcement that the game will also hit PlayStation 5 on the same day.
When asked about the release on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, the developers admitted that work on it has been going on for some time, but that during development, considerable technical problems were encountered, especially in split-screen co-op. If the developers manage to solve them quickly, the XSX/S version could also debut on August 31, but for now the developers are not sure if this will happen.
