Electronic Arts has launched the advertising campaign for the sixth installment of the Battlefield series. The game's official Twitter account sent private messages with coded text to several influencers. With the combined efforts of the community, the users managed to decipher the hidden content, which sounds more or less like this:
Some of you want to return home - that most human of all instincts.
With a heavy heart, I must tell you the truth. You have no home to return to.
The question we must ask ourselves now is:
Do we accept our fate? Or do we dare to fight for a better world?
No one may force into battle, but I say to all who can hear my voice: if you can fire a gun, if you can tend a wound, if you can CR havoc....
Those who cannot - need you. We need you.
War is the only way home.
In addition, several screenshots, which allegedly come from the pre-alpha version of the new Battlefield, (a well-known source, Tom Henderson, claims they're genuine) have leaked online. They show a futuristic-looking city (which would confirm earlier rumors that the game will be set in the near future), tanks, flying machines, as well as an impressive sandstorm effect.
As a reminder, the first official showecase of the sixth installment of the Battlefield series will take place on Wednesday, June 9, at 7:00 AM PT.
