Bloodtrail Update Brings New Content to Wolcen

The devs of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem informed that a major update titled Bloodtrail will soon be released, introducing free new content and major changes in gameplay mechanics.

BLOODTRAIL IS:
  • Free new content,
  • Improved gameplay,
  • Economy overhaul so big that it requires us to create new characters.

RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem was one of the hits of the year, but many players have already forgotten about the game. We'll soon get a good reason to remind ourselves of it, as the devs announced that they're finishing work on an update that will introduce a lot of novelties.

The project is called Wolcen Chronicle I: Bloodtrail. For the time being, the information about it is quite scarce. We know that it will offer both new content and changes in gameplay mechanics. Virtual economy of the game is to be reworked so thoroughly that it will force us to create new characters. Existing saves will be moved to a new mode, called Legacy, where we will be able to continue playing under the old rules.

This solution will divide characters in two groups, which will not be able to interact with each other, both in the game and in trade. However, this does not seem to be a big problem, as most of the community will probably switch to the new economy.

We don't know exactly what the promised content will offer, or what other changes in the gameplay are being prepared by the devs. The release date of Wolcen Chronicle I: Bloodtrail was also not given, although the team promises that it will happen soon.

Since the game's debut, the developers have released seventeen updated that fixed bugs, improved game performance and server operation. Afterwards, the devs went silent to focus on Bloodtrail. However, they ensure that they kept track of what was happening in the community and many of the changes were based on suggestions from players.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem debuted in early access in March 2016. However, the game became a hit only after the release of the full version, which took place in February this year. Soon afterwards, the game set an activity record of 127 thousand players. Yesterday, at the hottest moment of the day, only 296 people played the game at the same time. One may wonder whether Bloodtrail will lead to a renaissance of the project.
