David Szymanski, or the dev of DUSK, is working on Butcher's Creek, an action game inspired by Manhunt and the Condemned series.
Known for its excellent games DUSK and Iron Lung developer David Szymanski has announced his next project.
Action of Butcher's Creek will be set in the forests of Appalachia, roamed by a gang of torture-loving serial killers. The player will use a variety of rusty tools to end the lives of these psychopaths.
As sources of inspiration for the game are cited the Manhunt and Condemned series. We can therefore expect a dark climate, dirty locations and a high level of brutality.
In the fight we will use hammers, axes, pipes and paper knives, among others. Our hero himself will have dark sexual fantasies, so he will regain his sanity by taking pictures of gruesome murder scenes.
The dev promises an unusual graphic style, which is supposed to combine the atmosphere of games powered by Source engine with the rough style modeled on found footage horror films, simulating the image recorded by a poor-quality video camera.
